Flat-rate access announced in Germany (20 December 1998) In Germany. a PC magazine and an operator have got together to offer exactly the kind of service we are campaigning for. There's an announcement; for those of you who don't understand German the deal, available from 23 December, is unmetered access, 7pm to 7am weekdays and all weekend, for DM77 (£28). This includes the cost of all telephone calls and that of Internet access. Peak access is from 8 to 19 pfennigs/minute (3 to 7p/minute); telephone help is 48 pfennigs/minute (17p/minute). We considered calling this item 'Germany 1 England 0' ;)
